The West Valley Mavericks Foundation has named Arizona Assistance in Healthcare as its monthly beneficiary, recognizing the nonprofit’s work supporting cancer patients across the Phoenix area.
Arizona Assistance in Healthcare, or AAIH, is a Goodyear-based organization founded in 2008. The nonprofit provides financial assistance to cancer patients undergoing treatment, focusing specifically on non-medical expenses such as groceries, rent, utilities, childcare and school supplies.
AAIH is operated entirely by volunteers and does not receive state or federal funding. It relies on donations, grants, memorials and annual fundraising events to support its programs. The organization’s board members donate their time to plan one major fundraiser each year, as well as occasional smaller events.
The West Valley Mavericks Foundation is a nonprofit that supports a range of community programs in the West Valley. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for children, families and individuals in need. Each month, the foundation highlights one nonprofit organization as a beneficiary of its outreach efforts.
AAIH provides assistance to patients being treated at hospitals throughout the Phoenix metro area. The organization does not fund travel, medications, hotel accommodations or physician or hospital charges.
