OPINION — I live on Escondido Drive off North Village Parkway near Camelback Road between Millennium High School and Jackie Robinson Little League Field. I work from home and around noon there are so many rock trucks, many of which engine-brake even though they are not allowed to. The sound is so loud it hurts my children’s eardrums.
My children’s ears already hurt enough as it is, and the trucks sometimes give me a headache when I hear the super loud dual stackers. I swear it has to be close to 100 decibels. When I hear them coming, I usually try and go inside to help reduce the noise.
I really wish the rock trucks would take El Mirage Road to Northern Parkway or Northern Avenue. There are very few homes by Northern Avenue and they are very large lots pushed back south away from the road. Plus, there is only the Wildlife World Zoo, Falcon Dunes Golf Course and Desert Diamond Casino.
It’s really a bummer that Litchfield Park and others have to spend all this money to rebuild Camelback just because the rock trucks won’t use another nearby less-populated road. This money could be spent on new parks, etc.
Senate Bill 1097 really has been a disaster for local families living in Litchfield.
