As Election Day Approaches
To allow candidates the right to respond to criticisms about their candidacy before Election Day, the last day Independent Newsmedia will publish new election-related letters online is Tuesday, Oct. 27. Candidates may submit a 150-word reply addressing criticisms only and should email them to azopinions@iniusa.org along with their name, address, contact number and the headline of the letter they’re addressing.
OPINION — We are writing this letter in support of Donna Davis who is running for re-election to the Maricopa County Community College Governing Board. She has served as an MCCCD board member for four years.
In her time as secretary, she has championed workforce development for students to obtain high-paying jobs and ensured that resources are available for students to acquire affordable higher education.
She helped drive crucial improvements for MCCCD by leading the passage of bipartisan Proposition 486 and secured a historic multiyear $16 million grant alongside the college system to fund student retention, degree completion and transfer pathways.
We have worked with Donna for years as she supports not only MCCCD but all and every pathway to education for our students. We have great admiration for Donna’s ethics and highly collaborative leadership style. We urge voters to Keep Donna Davis!
