Public health officials to host aging and memory care session with AARP

Posted

AARP and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health will co-host a public session on aging and memory care Thursday evening at the Georgia T. Lord Library.

The event, scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. in the library’s community room at 1900 N Civic Square, in Goodyear, is part of a continuing series that explores issues facing older adults and those who care for them.

Organizers say the session will cover several key topics, including Social Security, Medicare, prescription drug costs, and support for family caregivers. AARP representatives are expected to outline the organization’s policy priorities and provide information on available resources.

Other topics on the agenda include age discrimination, health care access, and the growing threat of fraud targeting older adults.

The event is free and open to the public.  Visit mcldaz.org for more information.
