The city of Goodyear’s Water Services Department received four awards from the Arizona Water Association, recognizing performance in wastewater management and workplace safety.
The department was named Wastewater Collection System of the Year, an award that highlights service quality, system performance and compliance with state and federal regulations.
In addition, the city earned three Arizona Water Safety Awards for its 2024 safety record, which included zero injuries among staff. Water Services employees often work in high-risk conditions, such as confined spaces and underground systems.
“I couldn’t be prouder of our Water Services team,” said City Manager Wynette Reed. “These awards are a reflection of the dedication, expertise and safety-first mindset our staff brings to work every day. They play a huge role in keeping our community running smoothly, and it’s great to see their hard work recognized across the state.”
The Arizona Water Association is a nonprofit organization that supports education, training and advocacy for water and wastewater professionals throughout the state.
According to the city, the recognition reflects an ongoing commitment to providing reliable water services while prioritizing the safety of employees.
