The city of Goodyear has been named a finalist for a 2026 McLean & Company Excellence Award, its first time receiving the distinction.

Goodyear was selected in the HR Management & Governance Excellence Award category from hundreds of submissions. The city stated the recognition highlights its use of diagnostic tools to assess alignment, effectiveness and accountability within its human resources team.

City officials stated those findings have been used to improve HR operations, employee morale and reduce turnover.

“When our employees are happy, engaged and empowered, they’re better positioned to deliver the high-quality service our residents expect and deserve,” City Manager Bryan Langley stated.

Finalists were selected for demonstrating measurable improvements in team alignment, HR effectiveness and workplace culture.
