The city of Goodyear has launched a new initiative aimed at highlighting acts of kindness, volunteerism and community service taking place across the city.
The program, called Good in Goodyear, will spotlight residents, small businesses, volunteers and organizations whose work supports the local community. City officials say the campaign is intended to share stories of civic involvement and encourage broader participation in community activities.
Content connected to the campaign will be shared throughout the year through videos, social media posts and feature stories on the city’s website and in InFocus Magazine.
Residents can nominate individuals, businesses or organizations they believe represent the spirit of the initiative through a submission form on the city’s website.
The current issue of InFocus includes several stories tied to the campaign, including one about Catitude Arts, a nonprofit founded in 2014 by Goodyear resident Bonnie Lewis that offers arts classes, workshops and mentorship programs, including activities held at Loma Linda Community Center.
Another story highlights city facilities technician Justin Cassiani, who donated about 12 inches of hair to Locks of Love after growing it for more than a year as a way to support people experiencing hair loss related to medical conditions.
Residents interested in submitting nominations or learning more about the campaign can visit the city’s website.
