A new Super Star Car Wash could soon be coming to Goodyear, and the city is inviting nearby residents to weigh in.
The City of Goodyear will host a neighborhood meeting Wednesday, July 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Goodyear City Hall, 1900 N. Civic Square, in Room 118. The meeting is part of the city’s required public process to review a request for a use permit for a commercial car wash planned east of the southeast corner of 166th Avenue and Indian School Road.
The proposal, submitted by Madison Leake, on behalf of the property owner, seeks permission to develop a Super Star Car Wash on a 1.26-acre site zoned for Planned Area Development, with underlying General Commercial uses. The zoning allows for certain types of businesses, but they require a use permit to ensure compatibility with surrounding properties and to evaluate potential impacts such as noise, traffic, and aesthetics.
According to city planning guidelines, a use permit must demonstrate that the proposed use will not be materially detrimental to the neighborhood or to public welfare and that it fits reasonably with existing land uses nearby.
If approved, the new location would expand Super Star Car Wash’s presence in the West Valley, joining an existing Goodyear facility at 490 N. Dysart Road, near Van Buren Street.
Founded in Chandler in 1993, Super Star Car Wash has grown into a regional brand with locations across Arizona, California, and Texas. The company promotes environmentally conscious operations, stating that its car washes use approximately 25% less water than the average at-home wash. The brand also highlights convenience, affordability, and community support through local fundraisers and nonprofit partnerships.
“Our goal has always been to create affordable, convenient, and welcoming locations you can trust to truly care for your car,” the company states on its website. “Super Star isn’t just a place to get your car washed. It’s where you go to leave your messes and stresses behind.”
The company also offers entry-level job opportunities with hourly wages ranging from $14 to $25 and promotes internal career advancement and employee benefits as part of its corporate mission.
Wednesday’s neighborhood meeting will provide an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to learn more about the proposal, speak directly with the applicant, and raise any questions or concerns. The feedback gathered during the citizen review process will help inform future steps, including staff evaluations and upcoming public hearings before the Planning and Zoning Commission and Goodyear City Council.
