Goodyear residents are getting one of their more requested stores to come into the community with the announcement that Sprouts Farmers Market will open in the community.
Common Bond Development Group announced the brand would be coming to the Estrella community as part of a 35,224-square-foot development along Estrella Parkway near the Yacht Club of Estrella and the Starpoint Residents’ Club.
Of that space, Sprouts will occupy about 23,024 square feet with the remainder for small retail shops, along with a 3,000-square-foot standalone pad.
“The addition of Sprouts Farmers Market to Estrella represents another important milestone in the continued growth of our community of more than 23,000 residents and an important anchor of our long-term vision for North Lake,” said Roger Theis, vice president of communities at Harvard Investments, which is partnering on the project.
The project is targeted to break ground during the first quarter of 2027.
A second phase of the development along the lake could add another 16,000 to 20,000 square feet, officials said in a press release.
The arrival of Sprouts tops one of the more coveted brands to land in the city, according to this year's annual retail survey of Goodyear residents.
“Sprouts is more than a new grocery store, this will help attract more restaurants and neighborhood services that will expand shopping options for residents,” said Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo in the press release. “Partnerships like this help ensure Goodyear continues to grow in a way that meets the needs of our community while creating new opportunities for investment and jobs.”
Common Bond is currently building a Sprouts store in Eastmark in Mesa, and Sprouts officials said they are eager to expand their footprint into the southwest Valley.
“Goodyear is a rapidly growing submarket, and we are grateful for the support we’ve received from the Estrella community,” said Regan Amato, director of real estate for Sprouts, Mountain-West Region, in the press release.
The center’s initial design, completed by Suite 6 Architecture + Planning and subject to approval, incorporates a maritime theme of the surrounding development.
“This development represents a strategic collaboration to deliver an experience-driven environment to a rapidly growing market,” said Trevor Cohen of Common Bond Development Group in the press release.
