The Goodyear location of Over Easy, a locally based breakfast restaurant chain, is participating in an annual fundraiser aimed at supporting children’s health care and addressing food insecurity across the state.
Over Easy will host its sixth annual “Dollars for a Dozen” campaign throughout April at its 19 locations statewide. Customers will be invited to donate $1 or more, with the company matching all contributions. Proceeds will benefit Phoenix Children’s Foundation, while each dollar raised will also help provide a dozen eggs to United Food Bank.
The eggs will be supplied through partnerships with Buckeye’s Hickman’s Family Farms and Sysco, organizers said.
Food bank officials say demand for assistance continues to grow as living costs rise, increasing the need for consistent community support.
“Food insecurity in Arizona continues to rise as the cost of food and other essentials climbs,” says Jason Reed, CEO of United Food Bank. “ Eggs remain a vital source of nutrition for the families we serve, and this year’s increased demand highlights just how critical sustained community support is.”
Since its launch in 2020, the initiative has raised more than $85,000, according to organizers.
