Free veteran art program launches sessions in Goodyear

Posted

A new monthly therapeutic arts initiative for military veterans will debut in Goodyear, offering free professional instruction across multiple creative mediums.

The program, titled "Veteran Art: A Path to Healing," is organized by the WHAM Art Association and will host its inaugural Goodyear session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, June 15. Workshops are scheduled to repeat monthly on the third Monday of each month at the Loma Linda Community Center, located at 420 E. Loma Linda Blvd.

The four-hour, hands-on sessions are open to veterans of all ages and residency backgrounds, regardless of prior artistic experience. Participants can explore various disciplines, including drawing, painting, clay sculpture, and metal art, under the guidance of professional instructors in a collaborative environment.

All required art supplies are provided by the organization at no cost to attendees, and a complimentary light lunch is served during the event.

While there is no fee to participate, organizers require advanced registration to coordinate class sizes, raw material quantities, and facility spacing constraints. Veterans interested in attending the upcoming June session or securing future monthly workshop spots can complete their registration through wham-art.org/classes.
