First Watch comes to GSQ in 2026

First Watch, the Florida-based breakfast and lunch chain, is slated to open a new location in the GSQ development in 2026, marking further expansion into the West Valley.
The restaurant will occupy a site near Bullard and McDowell roads neighboring the Trader Joe’s. The move comes as the company continues a period of rapid national scaling, currently operating more than 600 locations across 32 states.
The Goodyear expansion highlights the company’s "Daytime Dining" business model, which focuses exclusively on morning and early afternoon hours. This strategy allows the chain to avoid the overhead associated with dinner service.
Samantha Wheeler, speaking on behalf of the brand, noted that the Goodyear site will adhere to the chain's specific operational requirements, which include kitchens designed without deep fryers, microwaves, or heat lamps.
"We take an elevated approach to traditional breakfast, brunch, and lunch offerings," Wheeler said, citing a menu that focuses on fresh ingredients and seasonal rotations.
In addition to its commercial growth, the brand maintains a community-engagement program where a portion of children’s meal sales is donated to local and national causes. According to corporate filings, the initiative has generated over $1.7 million in donations.
The Goodyear opening is part of the larger GSQ project, a high-density city center development intended to serve as a hub for retail, residential, and office space.
