A prom dress donation drive running Feb. 1-28 will help stock more than 500 dresses for a free community giveaway in March.
Donations for the drive, organized by Bailey’s Closet, can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at 19657 W. Avalon Drive in Buckeye.
Bailey’s Closet is a nonprofit group that helps girls select dresses for prom, homecoming and other special occasions, with the goal of making sure every girl feels beautiful and special.
The nonprofit will host its annual free prom dress giveaway from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22, in the auxiliary gym at Goodyear High School, 17300 W. Van Buren St. in Goodyear.
More than 500 prom dresses will be available at no cost. Attendees can also shop for free shoes, purses, jewelry and a limited selection of men’s suits. Organizers say there is no catch, students can come and leave with everything they need for prom.
The giveaway is made possible through community sponsors and donated items collected during the February drive.
