Banner Health opens new multispecialty center in GSQ

Posted

Banner Health has opened its newest multispecialty health center in Goodyear, which city officials say marks a major milestone for the growing West Valley.
A ribbon cutting took place Thursday to celebrate the opening of the 65,000-square-foot facility.

The three-story health center is the first of its kind in Goodyear and offers a wide range of services including primary care, family and internal medicine, orthopedics, endocrinology, and a full suite of advanced imaging. It will launch with more than 20 providers, making it a significant expansion of health care access for residents in Goodyear, Buckeye, and the broader West Phoenix region.

The new center is part of Goodyear Civic Square at GSQ, a mixed-use downtown development that combines public, private, and medical investments. Banner partnered with Ryan Companies US, Inc., Globe Corporation, and the city of Goodyear to complete the project.

“This facility brings world-class health care closer to home, provides high-quality jobs, and draws new energy to our growing downtown,” said Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo. “Your success is our success.”

In addition to outpatient care, the center integrates Banner Imaging services directly on-site, allowing patients to receive diagnostic testing and results in one location. Services include high-speed MRI and CT scans, which will support more efficient diagnosis and treatment planning.

The facility also offers coordinated access to nearby Banner hospitals and specialists, including Banner Estrella Medical Center, creating a seamless referral network across the region.

Dr. Shiva Birdi, CEO of Banner Medical Group, described the new location as a reflection of Banner’s long-term investment in the community.

“A year ago, this was just dirt,” Birdi said. “Today, it’s a center for healing where people will find care in their community... We’re going to take care of this community, and we’re going to grow with you.”

The health center is expected to serve tens of thousands of patients annually and is designed to expand with the community. The opening marks the first medical project within the GSQ development, signaling a key step in transforming Goodyear’s downtown into a health, business, and civic hub.

The Goodyear Banner Health Center, located at 1800 N. Civic Square, opens patient services beginning Monday, Oct. 22.
