The Goodyear Arts & Culture Commission will launch its rebranded After Hours Art Talk series with a presentation on Route 66 by Arizona author and travel writer Roger Naylor.
On Tuesday, Jan. 27, the 90-minute talk will explore the history and cultural significance of the Mother Road as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2026, with a focus on Arizona’s role in preserving the iconic highway. Naylor will highlight the scenery, small towns and mom-and-pop eateries that continue to define the Arizona stretch of Route 66.
Naylor, a longtime Arizona resident, is an award-winning travel writer whose work has appeared in The Arizona Republic, USA Today, The Guardian and Arizona Highways. He was inducted into the Arizona Tourism Hall of Fame in 2018.
The event will be held at 1900 N. Civic Square in Goodyear.
