GMC partners with women-owned businesses to support Agua Fria High School

Posted

Yates Buick GMC is partnering with women-owned businesses, many in the West Valley, to collect donations for The Owl Closet at Agua Fria High School, a student-run resource providing free food, clothing, and hygiene products to students in need.

As part of its "Women in the Driver’s Seat" campaign for Women’s History Month, Yates Buick GMC is highlighting female leaders across industries while encouraging community support for students facing hardship.

Throughout March, the dealership is accepting donations of lightly used or new clothing and shoes, nonperishable food, and hygiene products.

"We wanted to highlight the incredible women in our community and, at the same time, take meaningful action to support students in need," said Whitney Yates-Woods, dealer principal at Yates Buick GMC. "From doctors to entrepreneurs, athletes to business owners, this campaign demonstrates that women can achieve anything they set their minds to."

Located on the Agua Fria High School campus, The Owl Closet operates as a Buffalo Exchange-style boutique, allowing students to select necessities at no cost, fostering dignity and independence.

"This initiative truly makes a difference," said Agua Fria High School Principal Autumn Daniels. "These donations help provide a sense of normalcy and dignity to our students who need food for their families, clothes for interviews, and simple hygiene items many take for granted."

Several women-owned businesses are joining Yates Buick GMC to amplify the campaign’s reach, including Dysart Dental, Osborne Jewelers, Be Bold Real Estate Team, KNOW Women, professional basketball player Sophie Cunningham, Saddle Mountain Brewing, Buffalo Chip Saloon and AZ Shooter’s World.

Yates Buick GMC hopes to make "Women in the Driver’s Seat" an annual initiative, celebrating women’s achievements while giving back to the community.
