Abrazo announces new therapy for BPH during Men’s Health Month

Posted

Abrazo West Campus is now offering Aquablation therapy using its new HYDROS Robotic System, an advanced, minimally invasive treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate.

“This results in faster and more precise removal of obstructive prostate tissue allowing us to treat patients with larger prostates and increase the chance of preserving ejaculatory function in the appropriate patients,” said Dr. Oliver S. Ko, urologist at Abrazo West.

BPH affects up to 80% of men over 80-years-old. Aquablation therapy uses real-time, ultrasound-guided, robotic-assisted waterjet technology for personalized treatment.

“This new HYDROS robotic system highlights another area of our continued investment into the cutting-edge technology for the West Valley Community,” said Hans Driessnack, CEO of Abrazo West Campus.

The announcement coincides with June being Men’s Health Month, which promotes early detection and treatment of preventable men’s health issues.
