WVAC seeks Latin-American artist submissions

Posted

The West Valley Arts Council is extending the call for Arizona Latin-American artists to submit work for the upcoming “IMPRINT: Viva La Cultura” exhibit.

The submission deadline has been pushed to Friday, Aug. 22, 2025. The juried exhibition will showcase both 2D and 3D works at two locations in Surprise: Arts HQ Gallery from Sept. 19 to Oct. 30, and the Surprise City Hall Gallery from Sept. 12 to Nov. 7.

An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Arts HQ Gallery. The event will feature music, flamenco dancers, live painting and food trucks. Admission is free and open to the public.

The “Viva La Cultura” exhibit is part of the West Valley Arts Council’s IMPRINT series, which highlights cultural diversity in the arts. The program is designed to recognize artists of color across Arizona and celebrate their contributions to the community.

Up to three entries may be submitted per artist, along with high-resolution images, a biography, pricing information and a description of each piece. A $15 nonrefundable submission fee applies, with proceeds benefiting West Valley Arts Council programs. Selected works will be curated by staff and partners to determine display locations.

The Arts HQ Gallery, located at 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza in Surprise, hosts six to eight exhibitions each year in addition to performances, markets, workshops and lecture series. Admission to exhibitions is free.
