United Airlines and Make-A-Wish recently brought an 11-year-old Houston boy to United Aviate Academy in Goodyear as part of his wish to become a pilot.
Boyu, whose last name was not released, toured an aircraft, participated in a taxiing demonstration, visited a maintenance hangar and air traffic control tower, and used a flight simulator.
A United pilot who also received a wish as a child joined Boyu during the visit. Boyu’s parents said he has been interested in aviation from an early age and sometimes gives his family informal lessons about airplanes.
United Airlines has worked with Make-A-Wish for more than 40 years to grant wishes for children worldwide.
