Meals of Joy, a nonprofit dedicated to delivering ready-to-eat meals to seniors in the West Valley, has received a $20,000 grant from the Campbell’s Company and the Campbell’s Foundation.
The funding is part of the Foundation’s Community Impact Grants program, which awarded a total of $920,000 to 46 nonprofits this year.
The program, which focuses on supporting food access, nutrition education, healthy living, and neighborhood revitalization, allows Campbell’s employees to nominate organizations serving their local communities. This year’s recipients are located in 30 communities where Campbell’s operates.
“Campbell’s is committed to making a positive impact in the communities we call home,” said Kate Barrett, president of the Campbell’s Foundation. “The Community Impact Grants program gives our employees a voice in supporting organizations that make a meaningful impact in the communities where they live and work.”
Meals of Joy currently delivers meals to seniors in West Valley cities, with plans to expand in the coming year. The organization expects to provide more than 40,000 meals this fiscal year, supported by a network of more than 75 volunteers who deliver meals Monday through Friday.
According to the nonprofit, the grant will help it continue serving seniors who may face food insecurity or limited mobility. Meals are prepared fresh daily, with menus rotating each month. Last year, Meals of Joy partnered with Chef Kevin Barko of Heritage Cooks Catering to elevate meal quality.
“We are proud to deliver thousands of meals every week to some of the most vulnerable in our community,” said Meals of Joy founder Larry Cervarich. “The generosity of the Campbell’s Foundation grant will help us continue our mission to bring meals to seniors across the West Valley. No senior should have to worry where their next meal is coming from.”
Campbell’s announced that its total grantmaking for fiscal year 2025 has surpassed $2.6 million, supporting nonprofits nationwide that align with the company’s social impact goals.
