Erica Stephens, president of the Kiwanis Club of Litchfield, has been elected governor designate of the Southwest District of Kiwanis International.
Stephens was selected during the district convention held this past weekend in Laughlin, Nevada. Her term as governor will begin Oct. 1, 2025, with the start of the new Kiwanis year.
A Kiwanian since 2017, Stephens began her involvement with the organization while serving as a Key Club advisor for homeschool students in Alabama. She later founded K-Kids and Builder’s Club programs for homeschoolers, helping students from kindergarten through 12th grade participate in Kiwanis leadership and service opportunities. Under her leadership, her clubs earned multiple Diamond Level Distinguished Club awards, and her Key Club was recognized at the Kiwanis International Convention in three of the four years she served as advisor.
Stephens moved to Arizona in 2021 and has continued her involvement in the organization. She served as lieutenant governor of Division 13 from 2021 to 2023 and later as vice governor of the Southwest District. In addition to her Kiwanis leadership, she is an entrepreneur who owns three businesses in Goodyear.
The Southwest District of Kiwanis International represents clubs in Arizona, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas. Founded in 1918, the district now includes 80 clubs with more than 1,800 members.
Kiwanis International, a global volunteer organization, focuses on improving the lives of children through community service projects. Each year, Kiwanis members worldwide stage more than 1.3 million service projects and raise nearly $390 million to support children, families and communities.
