The PW Litchfield Heritage Center is hosting a workshop to educate locals on residential irrigation techniques 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at 13912 W. Camelback Road.
For $10, the PW Litchfield Heritage Center is coaching on the creation, maintenance and repair of different types of residential irrigation systems.
Established by the Litchfield Park Historical Society, the PW Litchfield Heritage Center is a museum with displays featuring early settler life, including tools, household items, farming equipment and archival photographs.
The PW Litchfield Heritage Center was named after Paul William Litchfield, who was the president of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Under his leadership, Goodyear invested in the development of large-scale agricultural projects in the west, including the establishment of the Goodyear Farms in Arizona.
In addition to his business achievements, Litchfield was a philanthropist and supported educational and cultural institutions across the state.
According to the PW Litchfield Heritage Center, his contributions left a lasting impact on the community, which prompts ongoing community engagement and celebration.
