The P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center will host a lecture on the history of Arizona Highways magazine as it marks its centennial.

The event, titled “100 Years Grand – The Story of Arizona Highways Magazine,” will take place Thursday, March 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Goodyear City Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.  

Win Holden, former publisher of Arizona Highways, will present the lecture, discussing the magazine’s evolution from a state brochure to an internationally distributed publication. He will also cover its business model, economic contributions and role in highlighting Arizona’s landscapes and culture through photography.  

Founded in 1925, Arizona Highways reaches readers in all 50 states and more than 100 countries. The magazine’s revenue streams include book publishing, retail products and licensing, contributing to Arizona’s economy.  

Holden served as publisher from 2000 until his retirement and has been recognized for his work in publishing and tourism.  

The event is supported by Arizona Humanities and will include a selection of historical and contemporary photographs from the magazine’s archives.
