InnovationHub to host legal workshop for Goodyear entrepreneurs

Posted

The InnovationHub, a city-supported business resource center, will host a workshop for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs on Jan. 13 at the Georgia T. Lord Library in Goodyear.

The event, titled “Business Builders,” is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. and is open to the public at no cost. Organizers said the program is intended to provide information and resources for individuals at various stages of business development.

The workshop will feature attorney Sarah Gilliland as a guest speaker. Gilliland will discuss legal considerations for entrepreneurs, including leadership practices and strategies related to protecting intellectual property. According to organizers, the session will focus on practical guidance for small and medium-sized businesses.

An agenda released by the InnovationHub lists opening remarks and introductions from 5:30 to 5:40 p.m., followed by a presentation on leadership in business. A networking session is scheduled to conclude the event.

The InnovationHub is located on the second floor of the Georgia T. Lord Library at 1900 N. Civic Square. The program is managed by the city of Goodyear’s Economic Development Department in partnership with Arizona State University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group.

City officials said the InnovationHub was established to reduce barriers to business ownership by providing free access to training, mentorship and business development resources. According to the city, the program has served more than 2,000 entrepreneurs and business owners over the past decade.

InnovationHub services include business workshops, access to ASU Startup School, mentorship opportunities, webinars, library research tools and workforce development resources.
