Homeless Youth Connection marks 15 years with reunion event in Goodyear

Posted

Homeless Youth Connection, a West Valley nonprofit serving youth experiencing homelessness, will mark its 15th anniversary with a mini reunion for longtime supporters on Feb. 11.

The event will be 9-11 a.m. at Wildflower Bread Company, 1380 N. Litchfield Road, and is open to early supporters, partners and friends of the organization. Founder Larry Cervarich and current staff will host the gathering, which will feature coffee, conversation and an opportunity to reconnect and share memories. Attendees may stop by for any length of time.

Since its founding, Homeless Youth Connection has helped thousands of students remain in school, graduate and work toward long-term stability. The organization credits much of its growth to early community support that helped establish its programs.

“Even if it’s been years, there’s always a seat for you at the HYC table,” said Dana Bailey, co-chief executive officer of Homeless Youth Connection. “We are grateful to everyone who has stood with us and helped our youth.”

Supporters who are unable to attend are encouraged to share memories or reflections by emailing connection@hycaz.org.

Homeless Youth Connection was founded in 2010 and now serves more than 700 youth annually through partnerships with more than 130 high schools across Maricopa and Coconino counties.
