The PW Litchfield Heritage Center will hold a Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 14, featuring access to its newest exhibition and a range of family activities.
The event is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. at 13912 W. Camelback Road. According to the center, visitors will be able to view “Lighter Than Air: Balloons, Blimps, and Dirigibles,” an exhibit tracing the development of lighter-than-air craft from 18th-century ballooning to 20th-century military and transportation uses. The display also details the role of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio, and Goodyear Aircraft-Arizona in the promotion and development of U.S. blimp and dirigible technology.
Children’s craft activities will be available during the open house. The center’s gift shop, which regularly features Arizona-focused items, currently includes copper jewelry, Native American prints, Kachinas, Southwestern-themed artwork, greeting cards, handmade soaps, local honey and desert-fruit jams and jellies, along with regional non-fiction titles.
The open house is free and open to the public. Visit pwlhc.org for more information.
