Abrazo Health is hosting the 2026 West Valley Heart Walk torch through Sept. 25 as part of a 10-week campaign promoting CPR education and cardiovascular health.
Air Methods, Abrazo Health’s air ambulance partner, delivered the ceremonial torch by helicopter to Abrazo West Campus.
Abrazo is one of five organizations hosting the torch before the West Valley Heart Walk on Nov. 14 in Goodyear.
“We see firsthand how empowering more people to recognize cardiac emergencies and perform lifesaving CPR often makes the difference between life and death,” stated Kimberly Blaha, president and chief administrative officer of Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital and chair of the 2026 West Valley Heart Walk.
At the November event, the American Heart Association will present the torch to the host organization that raises the most money. Organizers stated last year’s walk raised a record $315,000 and attracted an estimated 8,000 participants.
Abrazo Health contributed 295 walkers, the most of any participating organization.
