The Walmart Neighborhood Market at 14200 W. Indian School Road will reopen Friday, June 6, following a remodel that includes facility upgrades, new features and a community mural.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 8 a.m., with a community event to follow.
As part of the reopening, Walmart will present $4,000 in grants to four local nonprofit organizations: All Cancers Matter Strong Together, Gervonni Cares Inc., Benevilla and Sounds of Autism. Each organization will receive $1,000.
Store upgrades include a new pharmacy with a consultation room, double drive-thru pharmacy lanes, a new grocery pickup area with expanded parking, updated restrooms, expanded refrigerated pet food options, new LED lighting, signage and display fixtures, exterior landscaping improvements and zero-emission refrigeration units.
The remodel also includes the installation of a community-themed mural.
Store Manager Christopher Corbin said the updates are intended to improve services and support ongoing partnerships with local organizations.
The Goodyear location first opened in 2013 and is one of several Walmart Neighborhood Markets in the West Valley.
