Goodyear to host first drone show for Fourth of July

Goodyear will celebrate Independence Day with a drone show for the first time, replacing traditional fireworks at this year’s Star Spangled Fourth event. The celebration takes place Friday, July 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Goodyear Ballpark, 1933 S. Ballpark Way.

The free event includes live music, food trucks, bounce houses, and inflatable water slides, with the drone show beginning at 8:45 p.m. The show will only be visible from inside the ballpark. Admission, parking, and activities are free, and tailgating is not allowed.

To help manage parking, the city is offering free trolley service to and from the ballpark from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., with a brief pause during the drone show. Pickup locations include:

• Goodyear Recreation Campus, 420 S. Estrella Pkwy.
• BASIS Goodyear, 15800 W. Sherman St.
• Desert Edge High School, 15778 W. Yuma Rd.
• Training Facility Lot 5, 2601 S. Wood Blvd.
