Goodyear to honor local heroes at Veterans Day tribute festival

The city of Goodyear is inviting the community to gather for its annual Veterans Day Tribute Festival, a celebration honoring the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces.

The free event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Goodyear Civic Square Park, 1900 N. Civic Square. The evening will feature live music from Fighter Country, patriotic mural displays, arts and crafts, a tribute flag garden and a selection of food trucks.

A new addition this year, Banners of the Brave, will showcase custom light pole banners throughout Civic Square Park featuring local veterans.

Leading up to the festival, residents can participate in several ways to honor veterans. The city is offering flags for its tribute flag garden, where community members can write messages of gratitude to veterans. Flags are available for pickup Nov. 3–7, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., at Goodyear City Hall.

Local artists will also create live patriotic murals at Civic Square Park during the week of Nov. 3, and the finished pieces will be displayed at the event. Veterans Day yard signs will be available at city hall during the same dates and hours.
