Goodyear seeks artists to create Veterans Day murals

The city of Goodyear is calling on artists to help commemorate Veterans Day with a series of temporary murals at Civic Square Park.

Ten artists will be selected to design and paint 8-foot by 8-foot murals that honor military service and patriotic themes. Work will take place onsite Nov. 3-7, leading up to the city’s Veterans Day Tribute on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The public will be invited to observe the creative process throughout the week.

The murals, featuring imagery such as the American flag, military branches and other patriotic symbols, will remain on display until the conclusion of the Veterans Day event, scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 11 at 1900 N. Civic Square.
