The city of Goodyear is accepting applications for the 2025 Georgia T. Lord Mayor Select Art Awards, which will highlight the artistic talent of city's high school students.

The competition is open to students in ninth through 12th grade who live or attend school in Goodyear. Students may submit up to three artworks in one of three categories: Drawing and Painting, Photography and Digital Art, and 3D and Mixed Media.

A panel of arts professionals, city staff, and academic representatives will judge the entries based on presentation, originality, artistic quality, and composition. Scholarships will be awarded to the top entries in each category.

First-place winners will receive $250, and runners-up will earn $150. One "Best of Show" winner will receive a $600 scholarship. Ribbons will also be awarded for honorable mentions.

All selected artwork will be displayed in a public exhibition. Entries may include 2D or 3D works such as paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, metalwork, and mixed media. 2D pieces should be no larger than 16 inches by 20 inches with a finished framed size of 20 inches by 24 inches. 3D works must not exceed 36 inches in height.

All artwork must be properly prepared for display with hanging hardware. Entries submitted to the Mayor Select Art Awards in previous years are not eligible. All submissions must be original.

The entry form is due by 11:59 p.m. March 5. Artwork must be dropped off on March 12 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Goodyear City Hall, 1900 N. Civic Square.

The artist reception and awards ceremony will take place on May 8 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Goodyear Council Chambers, also located at 1900 N. Civic Square.
