Goodyear Vice Mayor Wally Campbell and Councilmember Laura Kaino have been chosen to participate in the inaugural Civic Craft Leadership Program, a new initiative launched by the Arizona League of Cities and Towns.
The year-long, nonpartisan program is designed for elected officials in Arizona municipalities who have already completed the league's Newly Elected Officials Training and are currently in office. The program selects 50 leaders statewide for each cohort.
Participants will engage in monthly virtual and in-person workshops featuring interactive sessions, expert speakers, and real-world case studies. The program's goal is to help elected officials improve their leadership skills, exchange ideas, and develop solutions to enhance their communities.
"This program will provide valuable insights and resources that will help us continue building a vibrant, forward-thinking community," said Campbell.
The Arizona League of Cities and Towns created the program to develop stronger, more connected local government leaders and ensure that Arizona’s municipalities are equipped to handle future challenges. The first cohort is scheduled to begin at the League of Cities and Towns Annual Conference in August.
