Goodyear has opened scheduling for its Household Hazardous Waste pickup program for residential sanitation customers.
Appointments can be made through May 1 for curbside collection, which is scheduled to take place from May 4 through May 15. Requests must be submitted using the Waste Wizard feature on the city’s Trash & Recycling Services page.
Accepted items include paints and solvents, lithium-ion batteries, automotive fluids, pool and lawn chemicals, and household cleaners. Materials must be in original or clearly labeled containers. Limits include 10 gallons for liquids, a maximum of 5 gallons per container, and a total household weight of 20 pounds.
Items should be boxed by category, labeled “HHW,” and placed outside by 6 a.m. on the confirmed collection day.
An alternative drop-off option is available year-round at a facility in Laveen for residents who cannot use the curbside service or exceed weight limits.
Items not accepted include ammunition, appliances, medical waste, tires and radioactive materials.
