Goodyear named Unified Responder Community

Posted

The non-profit organization Sounds of Autism has designated the City of Goodyear as a Unified Responder Community This title is given to a city whose mayor, city council members, leaders within the police and fire departments, leaders within resource and recreation centers, K-12 school leaders, and many non-profit organizations have collectively committed to working together to create a more sustainable adaptive community.

The Goodyear partners in the U.R.C. effort include Palm Valley Church of Goodyear, AZ Community Impact, Agua Fria High School District, and Kiwanis Club of Litchfield.

The U.R.C. is part of the "Arizona Celebration 2025 to Present," and is presented by Sounds of Autism. The mission of the program is to safely integrate autistic children and their families back into society through love and support one step and city at a time.

Sounds of Autism states that there is a critical need for more progressive early intervention to adult life solution-based programs. To meet those needs the organization offers courses on life, job, safety, socialization, transportation, and independent living skills.
