Goodyear library hosts adult art education with Phoenix Art Museum

Posted

The Georgia T. Lord Library will be hosting the Phoenix Art Museum’s Art Docent Talks, held Thursday, March 6, 1 p.m. at, 1900 N. Civic Square, in Goodyear. This one-hour event will be an adult education opportunity focused on the Italian High Renaissance.

The talk will explore the Renaissance’s shift from the Middle Ages to the Modern Era, emphasizing the influential city-states of Florence and Rome. It will cover the works of artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael, who helped define the era's artistic achievements.

Presented by a representative from the Phoenix Art Museum, the session will explore how these artists shaped the High Renaissance and left legacies that continue to influence art today.

The Art Docent Talks series will continue with sessions on Thursday, April 3 and Thursday, May 1.

Attendees are also encouraged to continue their art education by taking advantage of the Culture Pass program which includes an ongoing partnership between the Maricopa County Library District and the Phoenix Art Museum.

The program offers free general admission for two to the Phoenix Art Museum and other participating cultural venues.

Culture Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis at all 15 Maricopa County libraries and can be checked out for a seven-day period.
