The Phoenix Herpetological Society will host a program at the Georgia T. Lord Library 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, for teenagers ages 12 to 18.
The event will focus on the care of reptiles with medical needs, including cases such as a tailless alligator and a three-legged lizard. Attendees will learn how Phoenix Herpetological Society cares for rescued reptiles and how such medical issues can be prevented. Registration is required, and space is available.
The Phoenix Herpetological Society is a nonprofit organization that focuses on the rescue, rehabilitation, and education of reptiles. Last year, the organization reached more than 250,000 people, primarily through outreach to school-aged children and teens.
This program offers teens an opportunity to learn about animal care and conservation, it will take place in the Community Room at the Georgia T. Lord Library, 1900 N. Civic Square in Goodyear, with registration closing on the day of the event.
