Goodyear Fire adds two ambulances to city fleet

Posted

The Goodyear Fire Department is adding two ambulances to its fleet this spring, increasing the total number of city-operated ambulances to four. The new units will be assigned to Fire Stations 184 and 185.

The expansion is part of the city’s ongoing effort to reduce emergency response times and provide consistent care from the scene of an incident to the hospital.

“Public safety is a top priority for us and now with two additional ambulances going into service, we’ll be bringing the total to four city of Goodyear ambulances serving the community,” said Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo. “The city previously relied solely on a regional contracted ambulance provider, so now we will offer quicker, more reliable responses when it matters most.”

The city’s ambulance service allows fire department personnel to manage patient care without interruption. Paramedics and emergency medical technicians coordinate with local hospitals to facilitate the transfer of medical information and ensure continuity of care.

“The opportunity to provide this level of service to our community is impactful, they expect the highest level of service and we deliver on that expectation,” said Goodyear Fire Chief Paul Luizzi.

According to the department, placing ambulances in multiple locations helps reduce response times and improve access to emergency medical services across the city.
