Goodyear dealership is awarded national "Dealer of the Year"

As the West Valley continues its rapid economic expansion, local automotive mainstays are shifting gears to meet a growing commuter demographic. Yates Buick GMC, a family-owned fixture just south of Interstate 10 on West Test Drive for over four decades, is leveraging its deep community roots to anchor a transforming local retail corridor.

The corporate designation is awarded annually to an elite tier of dealerships within Buick’s domestic retail network that fulfill rigorous manufacturing benchmarks. Eligibility is evaluated across several primary operational categories, including regional sales volume, localized market participation, employee training alignment, and independent customer satisfaction indices.

The achievement highlights the ongoing operational tenure of Dealership Principal and President Whitney Yates-Woods. Yates-Woods assumed executive leadership of the family-owned enterprise following the passing of her father, founder Mike Yates, who originally established the automotive group in 1984.

"This recognition reflects our team’s hard work, our commitment to customer service, and the trust our community continues to place in us," Yates-Woods said. "My dad built this business with a long-term vision, and I want to keep honoring that foundation while continuing to grow with this community."

The automotive group has built on that regional growth, expanding its commercial footprint with the grand opening of Yates Mitsubishi at 13725 W. Test Drive. The newly constructed facility launched full sales and service operations on April 1, bringing approximately 30 additional technical and administrative jobs to the West Valley market.
