Goodyear cybersecurity seminar to address AI risks for businesses

Posted

linked to artificial intelligence will be held in Goodyear next week.

The event, titled “Learn how 21st century hackers are using AI against you” is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the West Valley Regional Chamber.

The session will focus on practical steps businesses can take to address security vulnerabilities associated with workplace use of AI tools, including platforms such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.

Organisers say the seminar is designed for business owners and decision-makers without technical backgrounds, with an emphasis on accessible explanations and real-world examples rather than theoretical concepts.

Topics will include identifying situations where employees use AI tools without employer oversight and understanding how company data may be exposed through such use. Attendees will also be introduced to the basics of dark web monitoring and steps to take if sensitive information is compromised.

The event will be hosted by technology advisers Joel Tumulak and Sean Dengler.

Mr Tumulak is founder and chief executive of CompuShooter, a managed IT and cybersecurity company established in 2007. He has led network security assessments and infrastructure projects for small to medium-sized businesses across multiple sectors.

Mr Dengler, an engineering professional and educator with experience including work with Arizona State University, specialises in translating technical concepts into business-focused strategies.

Organisers say the seminar will address common concerns among businesses, including lack of formal AI policies, uncertainty around safe adoption of new technologies, and growing competitive pressure to implement AI tools.
