“‘Vision & Sound’ is an immersive arts experience that highlights the achievements of Black artists in visual and performing arts,” stated Julie Richard, CEO of the Sedona Arts Center. “It underscores our commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices and showcasing the incredible talent and contributions of the Black artist community.”

The Sedona Arts Center’s “Vision & Sound” program, now in its 11th year, began as a weeklong exhibition in Phoenix’s West Valley during Black History Month. Over the years, the event has grown to encompass multiple locations across Arizona.

“Sedona Arts Center is proud to partner with Valley municipalities and organizations to provide inclusive spaces where diverse stories and cross-cultural perspectives can be shared, explored and appreciated,” Richard stated.

The exhibitions in both cities are part of a broader series of events presented by the Sedona Arts Center in partnership with the ASU Center for the Study of Race and Democracy, Flagstar Foundation, and local municipalities, including the cities of Goodyear and Tolleson.
