Caregiver resource session comes to Goodyear

Posted

Family members caring for aging or chronically ill loved ones can learn about available resources during an upcoming program at the Georgia T. Lord Library.

The Arizona Caregiver Coalition will present “Supporting Aging Loved Ones: Practical Guidance for Families and Caregivers” from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, in the library’s community room.

The nonprofit organization works with the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Area Agencies on Aging and other community partners to provide advocacy, information and respite services for caregivers across the state.

During the session, the coalition’s team will share an overview of its services and highlight additional support available for family caregivers, including those in rural communities.

The coalition’s mission is to improve quality of life for caregivers by connecting them with tools, education and assistance while promoting caregiver rights. Its vision is for every caregiver in Arizona to have access to the help they need to care for their loved ones while also maintaining their own well-being.

The event is free and open to adults. The Georgia T. Lord Library is located at 1900 N. Civic Square in Goodyear.
