America First Credit Union accepts backpack donations

America First Credit Union and the America First Charitable Foundation are hosting their annual Backpack Bonanza, a back to school drive collecting backpacks and essential supplies for children attending Title I schools.

Donations will be accepted at all America First Credit Union branches in Arizona through Saturday, Aug. 8.

The credit union has two West Valley locations, which are at:

• 5084 N. 83rd Ave., Glendale.
• 15725 W. McDowell Road, Goodyear

Last year, Backpack Bonanza helped thousands of students across Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah head back to school with backpacks filled with essential supplies.

This year, America First aims to donate more than 1,500 backpacks to help students start the school year ready to learn.

New school supplies and backpacks can be dropped off at any America First Credit Union branch in Arizona. The most-needed donation items include new backpacks, binders, folders, notebooks, paper, pencil boxes, colored pencils, glue sticks, markers, crayons, highlighters, rulers and scissors.

Those who prefer to make a monetary contribution can donate online, where 100% of every donation goes directly toward purchasing school supplies.
