An upcoming art exhibition in Goodyear invites the public to explore the hidden sides of identity through creative expression, offering a glimpse into the personas people keep beneath the surface.
Titled “Alter Ego,” the exhibition will run from March through July at the Georgia T Lord Library, located at 1900 N. Civic Square. The show encourages artists to interpret and display their alternate selves, whether imagined as superheroes, abstract forms, creatures of habit or entirely undefined identities.
Organizers describe the theme as an opportunity for participants to “peel back the layers” and reveal a version of themselves that may not typically be visible. The exhibit highlights the contrast between outward appearances and internal experiences, inviting viewers to consider how identity can shift across contexts.
An artist reception is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., where attendees can meet participating artists and discuss the inspiration behind their work. The exhibition will conclude June 30.
The library hosting the exhibition is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
