The Wigwam Golf Club will host the 16th Annual Fighter Country Honorary Commanders Golf Classic on Friday, May 16, with proceeds benefiting support programs for Luke Air Force Base.
The tournament begins with a ceremonial cannon blast at 8 a.m. Organizers caution the public not to contact emergency services, as the cannon will fire only a blank round and no projectiles will be used.
Registration opens at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start scheduled for 7:56 a.m. Drivers leaving the city Friday morning are advised to allow extra time or take alternate routes to avoid delays near the resort.
The event is organized by Fighter Country Foundation (FCF), the leading nonprofit support and advocacy organization for Luke Air Force Base. The golf classic includes a luncheon, raffle, auction, and golf packages featuring exclusive merchandise from sponsors like PING.
Participation begins at $4,500 per foursome, and various sponsorship packages are available. All players will receive premium items and access to prize drawings.
Founded in 2006, FCF focuses on three primary areas of support: morale and well-being programs for Airmen and their families; events celebrating culture and tradition, such as the Luke Air Force Ball and Luke Days Air Show; and mission sustainability initiatives, including the Luke Forward Campaign and the Honorary Commanders Program.
