Travel themed art exhibit opens in West Valley

The West Valley Arts Council’s Arts HQ Gallery has opened “Wanderlust,” a group exhibition featuring paintings, photography and 3D works centered on travel and exploration.

The show runs through Sept. 11 at the gallery, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza in Suprise. Works on display include depictions of both real locations and imagined landscapes, with some pieces inspired by Arizona scenery.

According to the gallery, the concept for the exhibit is to create a collection of art inspired by places artists have visited or hope to visit. The intention is for viewers to see destinations through the artists’ perspectives and recall their own travel experiences.

Arts HQ Gallery hosts six to eight exhibitions each year in addition to performances, open-air markets, workshops and lecture series. The admission to exhibitions is free.
