Roadwork continues on Estrella Parkway

Roadwork is underway on Estrella Parkway between Yuma Road and Illini Street as part of a pavement resurfacing project.

The work, which began earlier this month, is expected to continue through Tuesday, Nov. 19, with lane restrictions in place until the project's completion. The project is focused on repaving the roadway to create a smoother surface and extend the life of Estrella Parkway.

By resurfacing the road now, city officials hope to prevent the need for more expensive and extensive pavement restoration in the future. , emphasized the importance of preventive maintenance. “What we’re trying to do is prevent that pavement restoration process, which is more expensive,” said Brian Harvel, Goodyear’s streets superintendent.

The repaving work is part of Goodyear's ongoing efforts to maintain and improve city roads. The city advises drivers to use alternative routes, such as Sarival Road or Litchfield Road, to avoid the construction zones.
