Registration for Wildlife World Zoo’s Safari Camp and Career Camp opens Thursday, Jan. 2, offering children and teenagers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with exotic animals this summer.

Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park, located in Litchfield Park, is home to Arizona’s largest collection of exotic and endangered animals, with more than 600 species on display. The summer camps provide an immersive experience, allowing campers to work with the zoo’s animals under the supervision of professional zookeepers, trainers, aquarists, and veterinary staff.

Safari Camp is designed for children ages 7-12 and offers the chance to engage with the zoo’s diverse collection of animals through activities such as feeding, cleaning, and creating enrichment for the animals. These exclusive experiences are not available to the public. Camp dates are as follows:

  • June 2-6
  • June 9-13
  • June 16-20
  • June 23-27
  • July 7-11

The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, with a fee of $499 per child for the week.

Career Camp is for teenagers from 13 to 17-years-old interested in exploring potential careers with animals. Campers will gain hands-on experience by assisting with tasks such as exhibit maintenance, feeding, cleaning, and animal enrichment. They will also learn about the day-to-day responsibilities of zookeepers, trainers, aquarists, and veterinarians. Career Camp dates include:

  • July 14-18
  • July 21-25

The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, with a fee of $599 per participant.

Since its opening in 1984, Wildlife World Zoo has focused on providing educational and engaging experiences for visitors. The 100-acre park features a wide variety of animals, along with attractions, rides, and daily shows. Safari Camp and Career Camp offer young people the chance to explore careers in animal care and conservation.
