Nordstrom Rack to open store at GSQ

Posted

Seattle-based retailer Nordstrom, Inc. announced it will open a Nordstrom Rack at GSQ, the city’s downtown development project.

The 25,000-square-foot store is expected to open in spring 2027 at the northwest corner of Bullard Avenue and McDowell Road, where the second phase of GSQ construction is underway.

Nordstrom Rack, the company’s off-price retail chain, offers discounted clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty products and home goods from brands also sold at Nordstrom department stores.

Company officials said the new store will expand its presence in the Phoenix market.

“We look forward to being a part of the Goodyear community and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices,” said Gemma Lionello, president of Nordstrom Rack.

Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo said the retailer has been one of the most requested businesses by residents since the city began surveying community preferences in 2017.

“We’re proud to welcome Nordstrom Rack to Downtown Goodyear, which residents have long asked for, as the newest addition to our thriving retail community,” Pizzillo said.

Other businesses recently announced for GSQ include Trader Joe’s, Black Rock Coffee Bar and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill.

The GSQ project is being developed in partnership with Globe Corp. and RED Development, which have emphasized bringing national retail tenants to the city’s downtown area.
