Litchfield schools achieve A+ award

Posted

The Arizona Educational Foundation distributed A+ awards to 53 public schools in the state including the Litchfield Elementary School District's Belen Soto Elementary School and Verrado Middle School.

The A+ School of Excellence program recognizes schools that exemplify outstanding leadership, exceptional teaching, rigorous academics, and strong community involvement. Established 42 years ago, the program serves as a model for identifying Arizona schools worthy of national recognition, including the U.S. Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Award.

Each year, hundreds of schools apply for this designation, undergoing a selection process that includes an application, interviews, and on-site evaluations by education professionals. Schools earning the A+ distinction hold the title for four years and take on mentorship roles through AEF’s Principal’s Leadership Academy, helping to develop future school leaders.

Having two schools coming from Litchfield Elementary School District is a point of pride for district officials stated Dr. Carter Davidson, Superintendent of Litchfield Elementary School District.

“This honor reflects the dedication of our educators, students, and families in creating an engaging and positive learning environment,” stated Davidson. “Belen Soto Elementary and Verrado Middle School have demonstrated excellence in academics and community engagement which have led to incredible student success. We are proud of their achievement.”
